Keeping Children Safe
Safeguarding Pupils
A copy of the Safeguarding Policy can be accessed on our School Policies website page, using this link.
Victoria Primary Academy rigorously supports Safeguarding and Child Protection and ensure effective procedures are in place throughout school. We have a responsibility to ensure that children are safe and that any concerns relating to child protection are dealt with swiftly. We have safeguarding systems in place regarding the following:
- Attendance
- Behaviour
- Health and Safety
- Curriculum
- Online Safety (including Social Media)
- Safer Recruitment and Selection
All staff members working at Victoria Primary Academy receive Safeguarding training on a regular basis and our Designated Safeguarding Leads ensure they remain fully briefed on all updates regarding Child Protection matters.
If you have any concerns regarding Child Protection or Safeguarding matters, please do not hesitate to contact the school office in person or by telephone (01132482449) and ask to speak to a Designated Safeguarding Officer. Alternatively, you can email info@vpaleeds.co.uk and ask for a member of the Safeguarding team to contact you. You can also raise a concern with any member of the staff team, who will liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Team on your behalf.
Domestic Violence
We work closely with West Yorkshire Police to support children who live in households where there are incidents of domestic violence and abuse. Confidential information is provided to schools on any incidents of domestic violence and abuse which occur within a child’s household that might have an impact on a child whilst they are in school. Members of the school staff (Miss Dooley and Mrs Broughton), are trained to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, so that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children or their families. At Victoria Primary Academy we aim to offer the best possible support to our children and we believe this is beneficial for all those involved.
If you would like further support or information about domestic violence and abuse, please go to www.leedsdomesticviolenceandabuse.co.uk.
