Community Pantry
The Community Pantry @ Victoria Primary Academy
Our Community Pantry is in place to support the Victoria Academy community.
The project was set up in 2023. The Leeds Irish Centre (York Road) helped us to set-up by donating money to stock it. Since then, we have more community
projects helping us with filling the pantry so that Victoria Primary Academy Community can enjoy basic food supplies for free. Give a Gift charity provides weekly food for some of our parents and Councillors Ashgar Khan and Luke Farley also gave school a generous donation. Thank you to Councillors Ashgar Khan and Luke Farley on behalf of our families and school community for your generous donation. This has helped school to continue to provide much needed food for our community pantry. Another huge thank you to Give a Gift charity for helping us to support our school community with your weekly donations of food. This is very much appreciated.
At Victoria Primary Academy, we believe that our school is the heart of the community. We know that supporting our students means supporting their families, which is why we are incredibly proud to offer our weekly Community Pantry. We want to ensure that every family in our community feels supported, valued, and cared for, whether you need a little extra help with the weekly shop or just want to make use of the fresh food, toiletries and staples we have available.
Our Community Pantry is a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where parents and carers can come and collect food for their households. The pantry is completely free and open to all Victoria Primary Academy families. You can drop by every Thursday from 2:00 PM onwards, and there is no need to sign up in advance or fill out any forms—simply come in and take what you need.
We also understand that emergencies don’t just happen on Thursdays. If your family is facing a challenging time or you find yourself needing urgent support during the rest of the week, please know that you are never alone. Our dedicated pastoral team is always on hand to help. Feel free to come in and speak to us, give the school office a call, or send us an email, knowing that any conversations will be treated with the utmost kindness and confidentiality. We are proud of our community, and we are proud to stand with you.
